Thieving Nanny

I recently hooked my friend Justin up with a pair of Paola Belle Aviators from the Silver Lining Vintage vault. No, this isn’t a picture of Justin in his glasses. Evidently his Nanny stole them from him and he doesn’t have the heart to ask for them back. I hear Nanny doesn’t realize that these aren’t her original frames, but her super stylish grandson’s. Style runs in the family for sure…

MGMT In Need of Shade(s)

While doing my Sunday morning dance wake-up routine to MGMT, I discovered this early recording.

Everything is amazing about it, but he guys really look like they’re suffering out there without shades.

Maybe some vintage?

Congratulations to Araks

We would like to congratulate one of our favorite designers, Araks Yeramyan of Araks, on being nominated for a CFDA award.

Silver Lining Opticians had the pleasure of providing eyewear for the last Araks fashion show at Bryant Park. I loved the glasses, the clothes, and the models. Unfortunately I just get to hang out with the frames not the models.

The glasses Araks chose to compliment her designs are all part of the Silver Lining vintage collection and can be purchased exclusively at our shop or online at Refinery29Shops. You won’t see these brands anywhere else!

Silver Lining’s IPO

Like all great opticians we will soon be releasing the Silver Lining eyewear collection. As an initial public offering we are currently selling a very limited quantity of our first shape. The pieces were handmade for us in Germany and come in two eye sizes with a range of classic colors in matte and gloss finishes. These pieces will quickly become collectible as the first Silver Lining pieces ever made.
