Movie Frame–The Graduate

Summer after graduation, great style, beautiful architecture, cars, and older women–not too bad a summer. Kyle Hackett of Rogues Gallery and Selectism goes into more detail on his blog.

Great mid 1980s family photo. Hugh should put the aviators back on. Maybe with a rose tint?
We love their taste in summer. Music, clothes, watches, shoes, and of course Silver Lining Opticians The Henri in Matte Blue. Check it all out at A Fresh Take. Love the Phoenix video that inspired the look.

Above we see Andrea from the first go around in her round metal frames versus Annie (Shanae Grimes) below in some vintage Carreras she bought at her last visit to Silver Lining Opticians. Since these were made in the mid-1980s the shades really precede both teen soaps.

Ricky stopped by to get his lenses fixed in his Drifters, he also needed a belt. Well it looked like the perfect time for a little impromptu collaboration. Stop on by to get your custom fitted belt, and remember you saw it here first.

Considered the greatest NASCAR driver of all time Richard Petty is known simply as “The King” by his fans. Here’s a great photo from his younger days wearing some really cool wraparound sunglasses, and below racing his Plymouth Super Bird.

Thank you to my old friend Ty who was inspired by his visit to the Yousef Karsh exhibit which just ended at The Art Institute of Chicago. I love the picasso in the background and the glasses up on the forehead. I haven’t seen Le Corbusier in this shape before. Instead of his normal round shape with temples which extend from the middle of the frame front, these are much more like and exaggerated Pantos shape like those we just got from RVS by V below.

Anna Wintour on CBS’ 60 minutes. Watch below as she describes why she wears her shades at shows. I agree Anna!

Artist Takashi Murakami in a great pair of round metal eyeglasses and a Dee & Ricky bow tie.

Had the pleasure of working with Jake Davis this morning on a music video shoot for U.K. rising star Master Shortie. Damian, Shortie’s stylist (and above center) is an eyewear fanatic a is currently co-hosting a 2 week pop up shop in London featuring many indy brands, vintage sunglasses, and the art direction of co-host and acclaimed designer Kate Moross (pictured on the left). Check out 143 here and a an article from Dazed Digital. We’ll post more about the video soon.
