Today we met Gaby Basora through a mutual friend. We immediately fell in love with her bag, and she fell in love with our glasses and our new puppy. While we were more than willing to sell her the Paola Belle Aviator seen in the picture, we weren’t so keen on her abducting Beatrice even if it is a Marc Jacobs Collection bag. Good luck to her kids who want a Shih-Tzu puppy so that they can have permission to say “shiht” a lot.

Gaby’s own line (Tucker by Gaby Basora) would look great paired with these frames too!

Some our most fun customers at Silver Lining are in the design profession–armed with their own aesthetics and ideas we often have a fun banter while selecting frames. We had the privilege of selling our own brand to Interior Designer Elena Frampton today.

While she ended up selecting the shiny tortoise model, if I’d have had my way, I’d have chosen the matte blue as shown below.

But in the end I have to trust Elena, I mean she’s blowing up! Her firm, Curated is featured in two design magazines this month.

We have been selling some amazing vintage pieces to hip hop’s top artists, but it seems the rock & rollers heard about Silver Lining too. The legendary Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top recently visited us, and left with a pair of Ray Ban Caballero sunglasses. A cool pair of shades for a very cool man.

We were very surprised when we received a phone call from Paris a few days ago from legendary eyewear designer Christian Roth. Mr. Roth had been very happy to see Rihanna wearing a vintage Optical Affairs piece designed by him in the 80’s. Rihanna wore the frame FROW at several Paris Fashion Week shows, and was all over the press. He thanked us for selling it to her as it was the best kind of unexpected PR he could have ever hoped for. I joked that we will probably see the shape reintroduced in a future Christian Roth collection, and why not? he did design them. Maybe we will get a phone call now from Jean Paul Gaultier thanking us for selling Rihanna the vintage J.P. Gaultier Eiffel tower glasses that she wore to his show pictured below.

Jay-Z said he might bring back Versace shades in one of the tracks on his recent Blueprint III album. We thought we’d help him out with it.
We recently came across five styles (including the famous Notorious B.I.G. model). They’ll be for sale online in a few days. In the mean time check out Amber Rose copping Kanye’s recent purchase courtesy of William Yan (one of our favorite New York bloggers).

Below are a few shots of the styles available.
