We were very surprised when we received a phone call from Paris a few days ago from legendary eyewear designer Christian Roth. Mr. Roth had been very happy to see Rihanna wearing a vintage Optical Affairs piece designed by him in the 80′s. Rihanna wore the frame FROW at several Paris Fashion Week shows, and was all over the press. He thanked us for selling it to her as it was the best kind of unexpected PR he could have ever hoped for. I joked that we will probably see the shape reintroduced in a future Christian Roth collection, and why not? he did design them. Maybe we will get a phone call now from Jean Paul Gaultier thanking us for selling Rihanna the vintage J.P. Gaultier Eiffel tower glasses that she wore to his show pictured below.
