David is a good friend of ours. The picture above, on Wooster Street, was a Street Style shot from Racked.com a while ago. His personal style is impeccable and we’re honored he’s a great customer too. Like me, David has a taste for Persols. He’s on the speed dial list for when new Persols arrive. David is an art critic, writer, and creative consultant, but sometimes his personal style is exactly what the brand wants. In this case, working with Partners & Spade on relaunching the 70s tennis brand Boast, David was not only the brains, but also the model.
Check out the sneak peek and you’ll see some great A-Morir frames and a quick shot of Silver Lining courtesy of a visit by Mike B. Looking forward to the premier October 5th.
“There are plenty of reasons to love Jordan Silver, the encyclopedic owner/proprietor of Silver Lining Opticians. One very good one is that he owns and runs Silver Lining, one of the finest spots in town to get impossible-to-find glasses from any and every era. (He supplies Bergdorf Goodman, and Jay-Z himself has been known to buy a few ultra-expensive pairs there.) Another is that he couples that eyewear knowledge with a nearly-as-great knowledge of pop culture. So not only does he have two colors of the granny-fab pair of vintage Dior specs above, he can also offer what may be the mother of all fashion credits: that they’re the style of choice for the, Lucille Bluth, the Medea of Los Angeles, from the dearly departed series Arrested Development (below). If that’s not a good reason to read his blog, I’ve never heard of one.”
This year it was all about round glasses for Band of Outsiders. From antique metals to leather wrapped vintage Ray-Bans, Scott Sternberg didn’t disappoint. This presentation was amazing with a beach scene, ping pong, and military style bunks. Watch out for these frames becoming available online through the Band website.
