Eyeglass Icon: The “Reggie Bar”

Baseball hall of famer Reggie Jackson also known as “Mr. October” for his clutch hitting in the postseason won five World Series titles. Before he joined the New York Yankees in 1977, Reggie Jackson boasted “If I played for New York they’d name a candy bar after me”. The Curtiss Candy Company fulfilled this prophesy in 1978. The “Reggie Bar” a circular bar of peanuts dipped in caramel and covered with chocolate featured an image of Reggie Jackson hitting a home-run wearing his trademark gold aviator eyeglasses. Although the “Reggie Bar” was discontinued when Reggie Jackson retired, the gold aviators can still be found at Silver Lining.
